Umana Umana may be arrested

 

Barring any last minute change of mind, the former Secretary to the State Government, Obong Umana Umana may be arrested and kept on check until after the next general elections. THE INK gathered from reliable sources that the plot to keep Umana in check is what the state Governor has devised in order to shut down the financial influence of the embattled ex SSG.

 

 It was gathered that there have been some sharp practices that was allegedly committed by the office of the SSG when the Nsit Ubium born technocrat was in charge. An Insider informed that this is the premise in which the State Government wants to use to ensure that Umana is put under check as it has also been revealed that the ex SSG has piled up lots of war chest against Governor Akpabio with one of the underlying factor being that the Governor has continued to undermine Obong Umana ever since the ex SSG was sacked.

Obong Umana ever since he was thrown out from Government is said to have orchestrated a weapon of attacks on the Governor throwing up spanners of war on the State Chief Executive at the slightest possible chance.

 

 THE INK gathered from a top source from the ministry of Information quite close to the Commissioner for Information Aniekan Umanah that the ex SSG is becoming too much and the best thing to do is to put the man behind bars to checkmate his undue influence. Our source said, the State Government is not happy with the manner and way the Ex SSG has decided to carry on with his after office life. He said, ever since Umana was sacked, his people have been criticizing the Governor, they have not seen anything good in this administration and all these are because Umana Umana is no longer in government. Our source queried if the ex SSG had wanted to remain in office forever.

Speaking further, our source said, it is obvious that Hiltop mansion has not paid deaf ears and blind eyes to the antics of Umana as according to him, there are plans by the system to put him under check. Our source added that when Umana’s cup run full, the Nsit Ubium man will see and reminded the ex SSG that whatever are the short comings of the Akpabio administration, he equally contributed a great deal to it.   

Our reporter was informed that ever since the sacked SSG was relieved of his appointment, he has been hitting the Governor in all fronts maintaining that the Governor; being aware of this had to device means to ensure that his Ex SSG is halted as Umana is quoted to have said that even if he does not win, he will ensure that he fights Akpabio to a standstill. 

 

It was learnt last night that the former SSG has been mobilizing factors against the Governor and had often used some of the members of the Executive council. One of the major reasons that led to the sack of not less than three Commissioners, a government House source said is because some of the Exco members were always leaking information to Umana. It was learnt that some vital information was always leaked to Umana and that was why the ex SSG was always at all times ready for a war with the Governor especially upon the relief of his duty as the state SSG.

 

 The newspaper gathered that a list of an alleged Umana Umana sins is being compiled and sooner or later, the man will be picked by the police and any other security agency. Followers of Akpabio’s political strategy informed our reporter that it is in the habit of the Governor to fight to a standstill any person that was once his friend and then fell out with him. Akpabio and his aides are said to have begun the listing of the alleged sins of Umana Umana and when the time is ripe, the security operatives will swoop on the ex SSG, THE INK gathered important and reliable sources.

It was reported that the ex SSG had begun to buy bullet-proof vehicles for party officials in Abuja with a view of them supporting him to emerge Governor of the state by 2015.
