 Mr GEE warns detractors
The councilor representing Ediene ward nine in Ikono Local Government Area, Hon George Etim Okon has described as unfortunate the report in a state based media (not THE INK) were a certain group known as Ediene Ward nine consultative Assembly are said to be moving against the lawmaker and are said to have sent an SOS to the Governor.

The lawmaker in an interaction with our reporter maintained that such organization or union does not exist in Ikono and described the publication as the handiwork of some elements in the council who are uncomfortable with the cause of justice championed by his humble self. He further described the publication as an attempt to tarnish his hard earned reputation since he is on the path of justice.

Hon George noted that after failed attempts by these people to lure him into their camps failed, they had to resort to blackmailing him using fictitious names and fake groups. He challenged the group to name their sponsors otherwise he will expose the said sponsors.

The Ikono lawmaker stated that ever since he was inaugurated into the legislative council of the area, he has amongst other things sponsored more than fifty four people in vocational training and other trades, sponsoring of yearly football competition for all the villages in the ward, award of scholarships to students, sponsoring of indigenes across various walks of life.
The lawmaker observed that his detractors are only jealous of his achievements and contributions to the success story of the Local Government Administration under the leadership of Hon Emmanuel Ukpong. George who is popularly known as Mr. Gee stressed that those who are parading themselves as the leaders of Ikono politics are the brains behind the publication which he described as not only being unfortunate and mischievous but spurious and illogical.

He urged those he described as detractors and enemies of progress to desist from creating unnecessary attacks in the politics of the Local Government Area as according to him, no amount of distraction will make him to fall short of his commitment to the people of his ward. He urged the people to discountenance the said publication as according to him, he remains a friend and a role model to the people of his ward.
