Agagu’s death too heavy for his family to bear … President Jonathan

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has described the death of the former governor of Ondo state Dr. Olesegun Agagu as being too heavy for his family to bear.

The president who was represented at the funeral service by the minister of Police Affairs, Nav.Capt. Caleb Olubolade, described the decease as “an intellectual of great commitment whose impact was greatly felt while in the ministry of Aviation later as minister of Power and Steel”.

Jonathan said the people of the community, the state and the entire Nigeria would miss Agagu “who was greatly respected for his intellectual ability”
The president prayed that such tragedy should never happen again, praying that God would grant the departed a resting place.

The funeral service which was conducted at St Paul Anglican church in Iju Ode was well attended by the family and dignitaries as the church auditorium was filled to capacity.

Meanwhile, Governor Olusegun Mimiko, declared a 3-day fasting and prayer in Ondo state, following the death of four state officials and 10 other people in the Thursday ill fated plane crash that was bearing the corpse of the former governor,

Dignitaries at the ceremony included, former governors Alao Akala (Oyo); Gbenga Daniel (Osun state); and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola (Osun state) and Segun Oni of Ekiti state.
