Information gathered from very reliable sources indicate that the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio is considering his Special Adviser on Technical Matters, Engr. Etido Inyang a nominee to the Presidency to be confirmed a minister.
THE INK gathered that the presidency is considering two ministerial slots of a Senior and Junior minister for Akwa Ibom. Sources informed that the Governor will seek to nominate Akon Eyakenyi, Effiong Bob and Engr. Etido Inyang the position, with Bob and Inyang being those highly favoured.
It would be recalled that the ministership of Prof. Ita Ewa was cut short by the presidency during the last presidential cabinet reshuffle in Aso Rock. Ewa’s sack had however created a stampede in the State political space where most politicians in Uyo and Abuja besieged Akpabio’s concern; seeking for his help to land the job.
But the State Governor is however said to have favoured Bob whom he wants to align forces to fight Obong Umana Umana. The idea of granting two slots ministers to Akwa Ibom State was learnt recently and the State Governor, Godswill Akpabio is said to be reaching out to Etido Inyang for the job.
Etido Inyang is one of those who have worked with the Akpabio Administration from the inception till date. Those in the Governor’s kitchen cabinet described him as a loyal and hardworking Exco member who understands what leadership and service delivery is all about.
