Akwa Ibom students speak on ASUU strike

Akwa Ibom students speak on ASUU strike

Students of Akwa Ibom State Origin have urged the Academic Staff Union of Universities to go back to school with a plea that crime rate has increased as a result of the ongoing strike that has passed its four months.
The group in a release signed by over 40 students maintained that it is a well established fact the world over that education is the key to development of any nation. The group said that the greatness of any country is to a large extent determined by the intellectual capacity of its citizens and pleaded with the striking lecturers to heed the president’s plea and return to the classroom.

Part of the release of the body however observed that the quick implication of the strike borders on internal security as according to them, crime rate will soar because an idle mind is a devil’s workshop. They emphasized that, all they are asking is for them to go back to school.
