The Five-man Electoral Board Committee of the National Association of Ikot Abasi Students (NAIKAS) worldwide has saluted the Executive Chairman of Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, Hon. (Arch.) Ufot S. Udoinyang for creating and sustaining harmonious relationship between his administration and the government of NAIKAS worldwide.
Expressing excitement on the developmental strive of the council boss, the body thanked Hon. (Arch.) Ufot S. Udoinyang for decorating the area with tangible and elegant projects. One of such projects according to the body is the construction of an edifice Motor Park located in the heart of the town.
They also expressed appreciation to the Supervisory Councilor for Education, Hon. (Elder) Enyinikang E. Etukakpan for his role of mediating on their behalf; while acknowledging the contributions of the paramount ruler, H.R.M Edidem U. J. Ntukobom towards the sustenance of peace and tranquility in the area.
The board whose members were drawn from the five clans of the area (Ukpum Okon, Ukpum Ete, Edemaya, Ikpa Ibekwe and Ikpa Nnung Assang Clans) accordingly, has comrade Uduak Ibanga Udobia as Electoral Board Chairman (Ukpum Okon Clan).
Others are Comrade Patrick Ekpe- Secretary (Ikpa Nnung Assang), Comrade Mfon Udoisong – Public Relations Officer (Edemaya), Comrade Imoh Kingsley – Member (Ikpa Ibekwe) and Comrade Michael Ufott- member (Ukpum Ete).
According to the release acknowledged by the Supervisory Councilor for Education, Hon. (Elder) Enyinikang E. Etukakpan and signed by the Electoral Board Chairman, Comrade Uduak Udobia, the board was constituted on Saturday 12th October, 2013 at the council headquarters, Ikot Abasi Local Government Area during the NAIKAS worldwide congress.
Briefing newsmen after the board was constituted, the Chairman, Comrade Uduak Udobia thanked the congress men, especially the likes of: Comrade Umoh Davies (Esq), Comrade Akaniyene Iwang (White Boy), Comrade Ubong Udoma – Uniuyo Chapter Head (NAIKAS), Comrade Etop Udoete, NAIKAS Worldwide Chapter heads and members, and the immediate past NAIKAS worldwide executives for electing him the NAIKAS Worldwide Electoral Board Chairman. He assured them of his commitment to conduct credible, creative and dynamic election that would enable NAIKASITES with passion to serve the association diligently emerge 2013/2014 executives.
The Chairman who stressed that the electoral board will not condole any illegality, pledged to conduct free, fair and transparent election.
He opined that the board was working tirelessly in order to conduct the election within the time giving to the board.
He therefore urged all the aspirants to deviate from politics of character assassination, blackmail, and focus on issues that are affecting NAIKAS worldwide as well as solutions to them.
He added that his emergence as the Electoral Board Chairman of NAIKAS worldwide was God’s will and that he will use the opportunity to transform and restructure the union.
He noted that in order to meet up with the time stipulated for the conduct of the election (three weeks), nomination forms and electoral guidelines were already out.

Reacting to the recent nomination of Hon. (Elder) Ufot Tobi Nkangudeh to serve as commissioner in Akwa Ibom State Government, Comrade Uduak Udobia, thanked His Excellency, Chief (Dr.) Godswill Obot Akpabio, the uncommon transformer for recognizing and accepting one of their great sons to add to his uncommon transformation agenda in the state.
He explained that Governor Akpabio has made a valuable footprint, which critics of his administration may not compete favorably with, within the period of ten years if they are given a chance to serve as Governor.
Comrade Uduak Udobia further stressed that Akpabio’s decision in choosing Hon. (Elder) Ufot T. Nkangudeh to serve as a Commissioner in his administration was a right step in a right direction. “I wish Hon. (Elder) Ufot Tobi Nkangudeh was appointed Hon. Commissioner before now, many lives would have being affected positively, he is a man with excellent attributes”, he noted. The Chairman, while stressing on the need for political leaders and other prominent persons in the society to always contribute their quota to the development of the society, prayed for God’s wisdom, understanding and protection on the Governor, Chief (Dr.) Godswill Obot Akpabio and the new Commissioner, Hon. (Elder) Ufot Tobi Nkangudeh.
