He said he had to change the structure of the building, from a town hall to a multi-purpose civil centre in order to accommodate the library.

A former Lawmaker who represented Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. EkongMexUmo has condemned in totality the rumoured automatic ticket surrounding legislators in the National Assembly saying that such is against the internal process of democracy. Hon. EkongMex who made this position in Uyo during an interactive session with newsmen said that such gesture was just like a “foul” in a child’s play adding that there is nothing like automatic ticket when people are suffering setbacks in their constituency due to ineffective representation. He said that those at the National Assembly should not be afraid of the forth coming elections as such is the time the legislators would know whether they have been doing well or not.

AKHA has lost its sanctity – ex lawmaker

AKHA has lost its sanctity – ex lawmaker

Hon. Asuquo Udo Darby is not a happy man at the moment. This is not because he is in need of food, shelter or clothing. But the aged ex Assemblyman who represented Nsit Atai at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly from 2007 to 2011 is unhappy because the House which he once belonged to had lost its sanctity.

Darby spoke on phone to our reporter last Tuesday in his own reaction to the manhandling of the member representing Nsit Ubium State Constituency Barr Onofiok Luke by a combined force from chairman of Essien Udim Local Government Area, Mr. Nse Ntuen and member representing Abak/Ika/Etim Ekpo Federal Constituency Mr. Emmanuel Ekon.

 Mr GEE warns detractors
The councilor representing Ediene ward nine in Ikono Local Government Area, Hon George Etim Okon has described as unfortunate the report in a state based media (not THE INK) were a certain group known as Ediene Ward nine consultative Assembly are said to be moving against the lawmaker and are said to have sent an SOS to the Governor.

The lawmaker in an interaction with our reporter maintained that such organization or union does not exist in Ikono and described the publication as the handiwork of some elements in the council who are uncomfortable with the cause of justice championed by his humble self. He further described the publication as an attempt to tarnish his hard earned reputation since he is on the path of justice.
