2015: Umana dumps Anietie Etuk

2015: Umana dumps Anietie Etuk

* Backs Andem Andem for Etinan House of Representatives’ seat
* Leo Ekpenyong to coordinate activities for Abuja based lawyer

A twist has been introduced into the political field of Obong Umana Okon Umana the former secretary to the State Government following the sudden interest shown for the Etinan House of Representatives seat by an Abuja based legal luminary Barr Andem Andem.

Andem who is currently in court with Frank Okon following debriefing by the former SA on technical matters to ex-Governor Attah is said to be enjoying the backing of Obong Umana Umana who had earlier thrown his weight of support behind Mr. AnietieEtuk, the former speaker of the House of Assembly who is presently representing the people of Nsit Ibom State Constituency at the 5th AKHA.

2015 ambition tears Sam Ikon, Akpabio apart

2015 ambition tears Sam Ikon, Akpabio apart
*Betrayal looms
* Don’t contest House of Reps seat, leave it for Anietie Etuk, Governor tells Speaker

Following the recent call on the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Elder Sam Ikon by the State Governor Chief Godswill Akpabio to drop his Federal House of Representatives ambition to represent Etinan Federal Constituency and support the immediate past speaker of the Assembly Mr. Anietie Etuk, Ikon has declared a war of vengeance with the Governor and is silently fighting the state Chief Executive.

An informed source told our reporter that when Akpabio handed that information to Sam Ikon, the speaker was terribly shocked as he least expected such political missile from the state Chief Executive whom he felt had gotten so much protection from the Assembly ever since he took over from Anietie Etuk.

Our source agreed that the speaker who earlier supported the former SSG Obong Umana Okon Umana left Umana’s camp when he noticed that the Governor was no longer comfortable with the Umana Umana gubernatorial ambition. Ikon is said to have shifted base and avoided Umana Umana like a plague. Our source said, didn’t you noticed how the speaker interacted with the ex SSG when the later stormed Nsit Ubium during the constituency briefing and empowerment by Onofiok Luke last year?

* Says, I can’t support your governorship ambition because you are a betrayer

Former Secretary to state  Government, Obong UmanaUmana’s ambition to succeed Governor Godswill Akpabio appears to be suffering a terrible blow following the red card that is given to him by the immediate past Governor of the state, Arch (Obong) Victor Attah.

After many efforts by Umana to meet with Obong Attah had failed flat, the ex-Governor who is generally referred to as the warrior of resource control and the father of Modern Akwa Ibom was said to have been prevailed upon by one of his close man, Maj. (Gen) Edet Akpan, Rtd, to grant audience to UmanaUmana and at least listen to what he has to say.

Big trouble in Umana Umana’s team * Over sharing of port folios

Big trouble in Umana Umana’s team * Over sharing of port folios
Umana Umana, immediate past Secretary to Akwa Ibom State Government and a likely gubernatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the 2015 general election is losing grounds ahead of the poll. There is crack in his campaign organization following the dissatisfaction of some Ibibio elders who confided in our reporter that their interest will be shortchanged again given how handlers of Obong Umana’s gubernatorial campaign operate. The team according to our source has more of Anangs, Oros the Igbos and the Hausas who sources claimed are out to and have been suppressing the interest of Ibibios around the governorship aspirant.

Sen. Ita Enang hosts Uyo Fed. Constituency on New Year eve
The people of Uyo Federal Constituency were on Tuesday the 31st of December, 2013 treated to a New Year party by the Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Ita Enang at D44 Ewet Housing Estate.

The event had hundreds of people from the four local government areas that make up the federal constituency which are Uyo, Ibesiko Asutan, Nsit Atai, and Uruan in attendance.

According to the Senator, he gathered the people to tell them “thank you” for their support in the out-gone year, to contribute to their celebration of the new year, and most importantly, to present his score-card for the year ending because “when a father sends his child to school, it is pertinent for the child to bring his result to the father to justify his father’s spending and to encourage the father to do more for the child”, he said.

Umana Umana may be arrested

Umana Umana may be arrested

Barring any last minute change of mind, the former Secretary to the State Government, Obong Umana Umana may be arrested and kept on check until after the next general elections. THE INK gathered from reliable sources that the plot to keep Umana in check is what the state Governor has devised in order to shut down the financial influence of the embattled ex SSG.

It was gathered that there have been some sharp practices that was allegedly committed by the office of the SSG when the Nsit Ubium born technocrat was in charge. An Insider informed that this is the premise in which the State Government wants to use to ensure that Umana is put under check as it has also been revealed that the ex SSG has piled up lots of war chest against Governor Akpabio with one of the underlying factor being that the Governor has continued to undermine Obong Umana ever since the ex SSG was sacked.

Get out, you are irrelevant * Aniekan Umana tells ex SSG Umana Umana

The State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Aniekan Umanah has been alleged to have lashed out at the former Secretary to State Government, Obong Umana Umana; describing him as politically irrelevant in Akwa Ibom State.

Aniekan Umanah is said to have remarked that way on Umana Umana while reacting to an alleged plot by the latter to pull down the Governor’s political structures. The Commissioner is said to have stated that it is laughable for the Ex-Secretary who is politically irrelevant in the State to think he can fight Akpabio from Abuja.
