The students union govrnment university of uyo lunches a special community volunteer program tagged operation keep Akwa Ibom Clean.
The union on the 26th of December began the project by visiting the useoff modern market to clean up the large market, The students union president comr kufre Samuel led the delegation of Nigerian students to the market to carry out the exercise, while speaking with the market chairman Mr.Emmanuel Ukpong, he noted that part of the primary responsibility of a students union was to engage in community service of which they came for,he noted that as host community, the university students has enjoyed relative peace in the community and as a union we chose to lunch our special volunteer program by visiting first Useofft modern market to clear the market and make it clean.
While responding to the students union mr. Emmanuel ukpong the market chairman thanked the students for their initiative stating that it was in the right direction, he noted that he was happy with the honour done by the students to them especially in the Yuletide period, he thanked the Vice Chancellor for breeding such intelligent and well behaved students and converged the goodwill of the village chief to the students, he also advice students to continue in doing Good and living right because as youths, they are the leaders of tomorrow.
The chairman then conducted them round the market community.
The SUG president commended the chairman on his achievement so far and thanked him for welcoming them, he noted that they would be coming around. the president stated that the program has come to stay.
