The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh has enjoined Akwa Ibom people to accord the office of the Governor, the sanctity and respect it deserves.
Mr Udoh, who gave this advice during a visit to him by members of the Inter-party Advisory Council Akwa Ibom State (IPAC), recently in his office, condemned the act of abusing the office of the governor, saying “I implore all of you to say in one voice and in unison that, the office of the governor must be respected”. He emphasised that Udom Emmanuel is not Governor of PDP but Governor of everyone in the state, irrespective of political, religious or ethnic inclinations.
The Commissioner emphasized that Governor Udom Emmanuel is transparent, passionate and committed to serve Akwa Ibom State and therefore called on members of Inter-party Advisory Council to give their unalloyed support to the governor.
The information boss who sued for unity, advised that no one should destroy the state because of personal interest, saying “let’s forget about party lines, let’s forget religious lines, the important thing is that Akwa Ibom belongs to all of us”.
He assured the people that Akwa Ibom State Government is poised to actualize its 5-point agenda and charged the citizenry to key into the vision of industrialization of the present administration, where the idea of relying
on oil revenue is replaced with entrepreneurship, capacity building and empowerment to keep the economy afloat.
Earlier, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Interparty Matters, Hon. Martins Udoh, acknowledged various projects embarked upon by Governor Udom Emmanuel and thanked him for his appointment as a mediator between the government and the other political parties.
Hon. Udoh who commended members of IPAC for resolving their differences, urged them not to relent in their commitment and support for the success of Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration.
Speaking, the Chairman of Inter-party Advisory Council, Akwa Ibom State (IPAC), Engr. Martins Inyang, congratulated the commissioner on his appointment and acknowledged the performance of Governor Udom Emmanuel in the Agricultural sector, notably the Ini Rice and Cocoa projects, in spite of lingering economic recession in the country.
He however, solicited for the state government’s support to integrate the programmes of IPAC into the state government activities in order to give them a sense of belonging.
The State Chairman of Labour Party, Elder Utip Etiebet, also expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for receiving them, and assured that the synergy IPAC seeks with government will last for posterity.
