Okobo stakeholders endorse Governor Udom Emmanuel for second term
Apparently satisfied with the purposeful leadership style, results oriented policies and programmes of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, relevant PDP Stakeholders of Okobo extraction have unanimously endorsed Deacon Udom Emmanuel for a second term in Office, declaring Okobo as no go area for any Gubernatorial aspirant in 2019.

Making their position public during an enlarged meeting of Stakeholders, elders, youths and Women of Okobo, organized by the deputy Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. princess Felicia Bassey ,yesterday in her Oti-Oro residence, Okobo stakeholders noted that unity is most sustainable when it is nourished by justice, equity and fair play, adding that justice demands that Eket senatorial District which constitute the economic life wire of the State be allowed to complete their Constitutional 8 years through their worthy Son, Deacon Udom Emmanuel. 


Setting the tone for the endorsement of Governor Udom Emmanuel for a second term in Office, the deputy Speaker and member representing Okobo State constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey remarked that deacon Emmanuel has justified the overwhelming vote Okobo people gave him during the 2015 Gubernatorial elections, evident in the inclusion of Okobo Sons and daughters in various positions of his administration and his refreshingly huge commitment to the development of Okobo. 

The lawmaker used the meeting to thank the Governor for the ongoing dualizedOkopedi-Oron road construction as well the planned construction of Atabong -Offi road to revive economic activities in the area. 

He described deacon Udom Emmanuel as the best gift to Akwa Ibom State in this time of excruciating economic recession and urged her constituents to continue to keep faith in his government. 

In a motion for the endorsement of Governor Udom Emmanuel for a second term in Office, moved by a former Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, former House of Representatives Member for Oron Federal Constituency and current Member of Ibom Airport Implementation Company Limited, Rt. Hon. Chief Peter Linus Umoh and seconded by a prominent politician from the area, Chief Dr. Friday Antai, the duo noted that Governor Udom Emmanuel has by sheer dint of hard work, humility, integrity and fertile sense of administration demonstrated sincere commitment to the holistic development of the State and expressed gratitude to the deputy Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for carrying Okobo Stakeholders along in her representation. 

The Chairman of Okobo Transition Committee and Coordinator of UtibeOkobo Youth organisation, Hon. UbuoUbuo, Okobo PDP Chapter Chairman Mr Maurice Finbarr, PDP State Assistant Secretary Elder Emmanuel George, PDP Youth Leader, Pastor AsuquoNduonyi, former Council Secretary, Hon. Deacon AsuquoKoffi, Supervisor for Education, Woman Leader, Hon. HelinaAndem, Okobo Transition Committee ,Mrs Esther EdetEsong, elders, and other Stakeholders were unanimous in extolling the sterling leadership style of the Governor and pledged their loyalty and unparalleled support to his administration. 

High point of the event was the distribution of food items and cash to Members of PDP across the 10 wards of Okobo by the deputy Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey.
