Akwa Ibom NDDC boss dies

A former Akwa Ibom State representative at the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC Pastor Godwin Moffat has reportedly died.

Sources from his family told THE INK reporters in Eket that the late Moffat passed on early hours of yesterday after a brief illness.

His remains have since been deposited in a mortuary in Eket Local Government Area. The deceased who served as the Akwa Ibom commissioner in the board of NDDC during the Obong Attah era hails from Ikpa in Esit Eket Local Government Area.

He is survived by a wife and children. The Late Godwin Moffat was earlier called and ordained a minister of God and he served in Covenant Ministries Eket till he passed on.

Speaking with our correspondents, Esit Eket people expressed sadness over the passage of Pastor Moffat saying his death is quite untimely.

They however prayed God to receive the soul of the departed.

It could be recalled that Pastor Moffat had once contested the position of President General of Afigh Iwaad Ekid but couldn’t scale through. He was a strong supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party.
