It was celebration galore during the yuletide for the people of Essien Itiaba, Ward Five, Nsit Atai Local Government Area as their illustrious son, Mr. Emmanuel Okon used the season to once again empower the youths and women of the area.
Mr. Emmanuel Okon who is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Eminence Oil and Chemical Limited who hosted the people in his country home said that the empowerment programme was another milestone in his commitment to sustain the pace of meeting the needs of the people a promise he has kept faith with consistently since the Udom Emmanuel administration.
He described Governor Udom Emmanuel as a visionary leader that has set a template in governance, laying a strong economic foundation for the state and bringing the private sector as strategic partners in the developmental strides of the state.
He further stated that Governor Udom’s legacies will re-engineer the future of the renaissance that will chart the course of making Akwa Ibom State a sustained destination for global excellence and assured the Governor that the people of Nsit Atai Local Government Area will give him their mandate for a second term in 2019.
In his remarks at the event, the Political Leader of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Otuekong Raphael Bassey described Mr.Emmanuel Okon as a great son of the area who has consistently identified with the growth and development of the area and his people and further described the empowerment programme as another milestone on his leadership strides.
He said that the commitment of Mr.Emmanuel Okon fondly called Pepsi by close associates once again proved his humane character that has seen him being endeared more to the people and urged him to keep up the worthy legacies.
The Commissioner for Economic Development in Akwa Ibom State, Mr.Idorenyin Udo described Mr.Emmanuel Okon as a patriot who has remained a team player in driving the set targets of the Udom Emamnuel administration and commended him for sustaining the empowerment programme.
The eldest brother to Governor Udom Emmanuel who was also present at the occasion, Mr.Gabriel Nkanang stated that Mr. Emmanuel Okon was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mandate Preservation Group (MPG), a frontline socio-political organisation that is working towards the success story of the present administration and the gesture he had extended to his people once again had distinguished him as a son that has set new standards in leadership to the people of the area.
Mr. Gabriel Nkanang donated cash gifts to the women and youths of the area in appreciation of their support for the Udom Emmanuel administration.
Also speaking at the occasion, a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Mr.Udoeka commended Mr. Emmanuel Okon for giving back to the people with a large heart describing him as phenomenal and a game changer that has contributed to the success story of the present administration.
He donated cash to support the on-going Essien Itiaba Football Unity Cup in the area.
Highlights of the empowerment programme was the presentation of a complete set of jerseys to Eminence Oil Football Club in the on-going Essien Itiaba Football Unity Cup by mr.Emmanuel Okon and financial support for the competition from the Honorable Commissioner for Economic Development, Mr. Idorenyin Udo for the teams.
