2017 will be a very good year for Akwa Ibom  -Elder Benji Udobia

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State and Political leader of Esit Eket LGA, Elder Benji Udobia has predicted a fruitful and glaring economic turnaround for the state in 2017.

The party Chieftain made his views known on Saturday in Esit Eket during the end of the year get-together and empowerment of his people in his home town, Edor community.

He predicted his views on the indices of the achievement of Governor Udom Emmanuel so far in the State, adding that the industrialization policy of Udom’s administration will begin to yield dividends in terms of massive employment by the second quarter of 2017. 


“We are all witnesses to Governor Udom’s magnificent strides towards industrializing the state through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative despite the economic recession facing the country”, he said  “Lots of ground breaking ceremonies have taken place over the past one year and work on those projects are on-going, by second quarter of 2017, the construction of Onna Refinary must have entered another phase, thereby employing many youths of the state”, Udobia explained. 

He called on youths of Edor Community in Esit Eket to prepare themselves for employment by acquiring various technical skills and education tailored towards industrialization. 

Elder Udobia, himself an industrialist said the economy of Akwa Ibom State will witness upsurge in every sector as the present economic situation has changed the attitude of the people in terms of farming and investment.
He charged P.D.P faithful to remain loyal to the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel “as P.D.P remains the only political party in Akwa Ibom State”.

Highlights of the event were the distribution of over 800 bags of rice and cash for the people of Ward 2 and 3 in Esit Eket Local Government Area. 

The leader had earlier in the day presented food items including hundreds of bags of rice and cash to the entire Esit Eket people at the council hall at Uquo, Esit Eket.
