The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ukanafun chapter has reiterated its commitment to remain on the vanguard of support and loyalty to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel. The Chairman of the party in the area, Mr. Magnus Akpan made this known when the chapter executive of the party and the eleven (11) ward chairmen visited the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Udo Ekpenyong on Monday.
The party expressed appreciation to Governor Emmanuel for appointing the Commissioner who has been a faithful chieftain of the great party, adding that within a short time the commissioner has impacted positively on the lives of the people. The party executive described Ekpenyong as a stabilizing spirit of the party in Ukanafun.
The Commissioner who assured the party members of dividends of democracy tasked the people to maintain peace and unity in the LGA. He appealed to them not to be distracted by the antics and intrigues of the opposition that has no bearing in the state, maintaining that PDP has a record of outstanding performance at all levels of government.
He stated that the 2019 second term gubernatorial project is a done deal and charged Ukanafun people to contribute their quota to Governor Emmanuel’s gubernatorial victory in 2019.
Speaking during the visit, the state organizing secretary of the party who represents Ukanafun in the state party executive, Mr. Saturday Michael Akpan emphasized that PDP remains intact in the area.
