The people of Ward Four and Five, Essien Itaiba, Nsit Atai Local Government Area have once again re-affirmed their support for Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2019 as they described him as a quintessential leader whose agenda for good governance has sustained the pace of growth in Akwa Ibom State which has further positioned the state as the choice for new economic opportunities for the country.
The resolve of the people was made known on Easter Monday when a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in the State, Mr. Emmanuel Okon hosted the people of the area to an Easter Get Together at his family compound at Ikot Itie Udung, Nsit Atai Local Government Area.
In his remarks, Mr. Emmanuel Okon said that the occasion was another platform to unite the people and a fulfilment of his commitment to sustain the unity of the area as the support base of Governor Udom Emmanuel continues to expand.
Mr. Emmanuel Okon who is also the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Eminence Oil and Chemical Limited said that the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel had made laudable strides that had impacted on the growth of the economy of the state and that the people of Nsit Atai will continue to work as strong and committed partners in ensuring that he is returned for a second term in office in 2019 to consolidate on the good works and templates he has set.
He assured that Nsit Atai remained united and will sustain the tempo of political unity that will give the Peoples Democratic Party the edge in the future elections while also commending the people of the area for their support so far for the present administration.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Political Leader of Nsit Atai, Otuekong Raphael Bassey said that the unity which had prevailed upon the people of Nsit Atai was a clear indication that they will speak with one voice to support Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2019 and that the Easter Get together for the people of Essien Itiaba was another milestone that enhanced the political unity of the area and added more value to the socio –economic pattern of the people.
He charged the people of the area to be ready to participate in the forth coming voters registration exercise in the state as he re-affirmed the resolve of stakeholders from the area who had earlier met in the day to support Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2019 for a second term in office.
Otuekong Raphael Bassey commended Mr Emmanuel Okon for his commitment to sustain his empowerment programmes for the people of Essien Itiaba and urged him to continue the large hearted gesture as the people were proud of his leadership strides.
Highlights of the well attended event was the presentation of cash donation to units within the two wards and presentation of food items sponsored by Mr. Emmanuel Okon.
