Information Boss tasks NYSC Members on commitment to service

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh has charged Youth Corp members to use the opportunities offered by their service year to develop themselves for their future endeavors.

Mr. Udoh who gave the charge while addressing Youth Corp members serving in the Ministry of Information and Strategy said their one year national service was a period for them to prepare themselves for the world of reality and career development, stressing the need for them to be serious, and more committed during this period of national assignment.

The Information Commissioner reiterated government commitment to re-warding excellence, explaining that Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration has opened enough opportunities for the youths to take advantage and attain greatness in their chosen endeavors.

He called on corps members to take whatever situation they find themselves as a challenge, and use such to recreate themselves to be better citizens and players in the emerging global and national economy.


Speaking, the Permanent Secretary, in the ministry, Pastor Praise Okon said the meeting was convened to enable the Information Boss have a direct interface with the corps members serving in the ministry, with a view to making them useful and involve in the task of reporting activities and programmes of the State government.

Responding, some of the corps members expressed their desire to work diligently to justify their posting to the State, which they described as the fastest growing State in the federation. They also thanked the Commissioner for his fatherly advice and hospitality to the corps members.

Present at the meeting were; the State Director of Information, Pastor Michael Etuk, representative of the Director of Administration, Mrs. Esther Akwa among others.
