The High Court sitting in Akwa Ibom State has issued an interim order of injunction against the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Senator Ali Modu Sherif warning him, his agent or anyone acting on his behalf whatsoever against the removal of Obong Paul Ekpo and members of his PDP working Committee in Akwa Ibom State.
This order came after the court had heard and entertained a case with suit number HU/124/2017 brought before it by Obong Paul Ekpo Chairman of the PDP in Akwa Ibom State against The Peoples Democratic Party, Ali Modu Sherif, Prof Wale Oladipo, Senator Anietie Okon and Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien.
Ekpo had earlier through his counsels Godwin Umoh, O B Akpan and Ini Ememobong seek the leave of the court to stop Sheriff and his team from moving against the PDP Executive in Akwa Ibom State.
The presiding Judge Justice E F F Obot having listened to the prayers of Obong Ekpo through his counsels and being satisfied that the requests are in line with relevant laws proceeded to grant the prayers of the Akwa Ibom State PDP Chairman.
The court also directed that copies of this injunction be served the defendants through a bailiff. The matter was however adjourned to 24th April, 2017 for hearing of the motion on notice.
