As part of his continuous effort towards sensitizing the people of Akwa Ibom State on the need to support Governor Udom and his administration, the Commissioner in the State Local Government Service Commission, Obong Godwin Ekpo has taken a tour to all the wards in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area.
The people, especially the youths who came out en masse to receive Obong Ekpo and his entourage to the venues for the meeting, expressed delight that despite the hard economy, he still has the love for his people by giving them financial assistance.
In their separate speeches, the people pledged their unalloyed support for Governor Udom Emmanuel even beyond 2019 and thanked him for appointing Ibiono Ibom indigenes into his government and also construction of roads in the area.
Obong Godwin Ekpo, himself a former Chairman of Ibiono Ibom, thanked the people of Ibiono Ibom for their unwavering support he enjoyed during his reign as the council’s boss in 2003, 2008 and 2011 until he was appointed by Governor Udom Emmanuel as Commissioner in the Local Government Service Commission.

“I came here today to thank you for your support I enjoyed while I was council. I want to thank you for supporting our dynamic Governor and our dear party, PDP in 2015 election which saw all our candidates emerging victorious. Election year is coming again, let’s be resolute in our decision and support the right people so that we’ll all be liberated and our people.
The Governor has done well in appointing Dr. Iniobong Essien as Commissioner for Environment, who by the special grace of God, is the present political leader of Ibiono Ibom, we should also rally round Comrade Ini Ememobong, PDP Publicity Secretary, Obong Ime Okon, House of Assembly member and we should also extend our support and prayers for Senator Bassey Albert Akpan.
“I strongly believed that when someone does good to you, you must reciprocate the gesture. Therefore, His Excellency, Gov Udom Emmanuel has done good to me and indeed the good people of Ibiono ibom.
It is incumbent on me as an appointee of government to go back to the grass root and thank my people on behalf of His Excellency for all the good things that he has done for ibiono Ibom Local Government Area particularly the road leading to the Paramount Ruler’s palace.
That promise was made during electioneering campaign in 2015 and in exactly one year, that road was constructed and commissioned.
His Excellency deserves kudos for standing by his word and that propelled me to go round the entire ibiono Ibom to thank His Excellency for being a man of his word and for carrying the people of Ibiono ibom along in his administration”.
