Following what they described as unprecedented in the history of area, students of Abak Local Government area under the umbrella of Federated Abak Students Association (FASA) Worldwide on Monday honoured the Transition Committee Chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen with the tittle of “Iberedem Nto Ufok Nwed Abak”.
Presenting his address, the President, Comrade Itoro Augustine said the visit of the students was to appreciate the Transition Committee Chairman for performing excellently well assumption of office. “We are here to say thank you to the people’s Chairman, a born-grassroot politician and a true leader of the people, Who led the people of Abak in the right direction”, the president stated.
Comrade Augustine pointed out that with the achievements recorded by the Transition Committee Chairman, if given opportunity in an executive capacity, Dr. Udosen will take Abak Local Government to the next level of development.
Others who spoke during the courtesy visit including Comrade Joe Abasiofiok, Comrade Usenemem Mkpang among others commended the Transition Committee Chairman for making the people of Abak proud through his performance.
The students leaders noted that Dr. Udosen has transformed the area and according to them the relative peace being witnessed in the area was as a result of empowering the youths positively.
They described the Transition Committee Chairman as outstanding leader who has the interest of his people at heart and vision for a better Abak.
They pledged their continuous support and loyalty to his administration and future aspiration. The Students however appealed to the council boss to look into the issue of bursary and provision of secretariat for the Association.
Responding, the Transition Committee Chairman thanked the students for the visit and for finding him worthy for the title.
Dr. Udosen advised the students to take their studies seriously so as to become useful and responsible citizens in future.
The Transition Committee Chairman called on them to make FASA more formidable where all the chapters would be carried along.
He also advised the students not to allow people to deceive them, stressing that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the only Party that is protecting the interest of the people and provide the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people.
Dr. Udosen informed the students that the Transition Committee under his leadership has recorded remarkable achievements despite the economic challenges.
The Council Boss assured the students that with their continuous prayers, the issue of secretariat would be a thing of the past.
