Recession: Ray Ekpu caution Nigerians against giving birth to much children

As Nigeria economy remain in recession ,one of the four co-founders of Newswatch Magazine ,Mr. Reymond Amos Ekpu has advised Nigerians against giving birth to many children. The veteran journalist gave the advice recently at the traditional marriage of his niece ,Miss.Imaobong Saturday Ekpu in his home town ,Ikot Udo Ossiom village, Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State . 

Mr.Ekpu who attended the occasion with many dignitaries used the opportunity to advice couples to desist from biting what they cannot chew ,rather, they should give birth to few children ,in order to be able to cater for them, especially now that Nigeria is facing serious economic challenges . 

Mr.Ekpu also used the opportunity to advice the couple to always make use of the phrase ‘I am sorry ‘.And they should not attempt to bring in third party in their matrimonial affairs if they really want their marriage to survive. 


Some of the dignitaries who graced the occasion were; Senator Anietie Okon,Mr.Micheal Bush ,Chief Senas Ukpanah ,Hon. Saturday Akpan, Hon.Nseobong Umanah ,the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Udo Ekpenyong ,the Commissioner for Health Dr .Dominic .Ukpong,the immediate past Commissionor for Education, Elder Aniekan Akpan ,the former Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Hon.Census Ekpu ,the member representing Ukanafun in the state house of Assembly ,Hon.Deacon Otobong Jonathan ,the PA to Governor Udom on Protocol, Evangelist Emem Etokabasi Udom,the bursar of Sure Foundation Polytechnic , Elder Nse Ebong. Speaking, the Chairman in the occasion ,Hon.Udo Ekpenyong assured the new couple of success in their marriage since he has accepted to chair the occasion. Hon. Ekpenyong also admonished the bride to respect the family she comes from ,so that she would not put the royal family of Late Amos Ekpu to shame. 

Miss Imaobong Saturday Ekpu is the daughter of Late Mr.Saturday Amos Ekpu,the immediate junior brother to Mr.Ray Ekpu .

The groom Mr.Udoro Efre is a native of Asantin Utit Ikpe in Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State .
