The people of Essene Town in kpaNungAssang Clan, IkotAbasi Local Government Area were so excited when the member representing MkpatEnin State Constituency in AkwaIbom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Ekong Sampson and the Hon. Commissioner for Commerce and industry in AkwaIbom State, Mr. Ufot Tobi Nkanude visited Essene for the Inauguration of the Ultra-Modern market, constructed by the Essene People.
Etebom Celestine I. Udia X, the clanhead of IkpaNungAssang in a message thanked Barr. Sampson for his outstanding contributions to the area, he described him as a worthy son of IkpaNungAssang and promised to support his aspiration come 2015 National Assembly election.
Etebom Udia said the day marked another history in IkpaNungAssang and the entire IkotAbasi Local Government Area during the official commissioning of Ultra-Modern Market in Essene town. He reminded that the market was established about hundred years ago by their fore-fathers and they had to for convenience to the people collectively decided to relocate the market to the East-West Express Way after due consultation on the rebirth ideas which the hinterland of Ikpa Communities in the present AkwaIbom State will be connected.
Mr. Ufot Tobi Nkangude, the Hon. Commissioner thanked the people of Essene for the idea and promised to send credit personnel from his Ministry to educate women to obtain loan for their businesses.
Member representing MkpatEnin State Constituency in AkwaIbom State House of Assembly, Barr.Ekong Sampson appreciated the clanhead, EtebomUdia X and the entire people of IkpaNungAssang for their love and sacrifice to build the unified Market for Humanity and relocation of the market to East-West road for interstate transactions. He noted that the market relocation will boost the state economics.
Barr Sampson promised to continue supporting the community, and added that he’ll meet the relevant authorities for the construction of more buildings and structures in the market in 2015.
He thanked the executive Governor, Chief (Dr.) GodswillObotAkpabio for the Uncommon Transformation in the State and urged all to support the Governor to land well as he prepares to hand over in 2015.
