Students under the ageis of National Association of Etinan Local Government Area last Monday massively threw their weight of support behind the leading PDP aspirant for the position of member Etinan State constituency in the forthcoming PDP nomination exercise.
The event which attracted students leaders and stakeholders of Etinan origin from all institutions of higher learning in the country took place at Emrossy Hotel located at Shelter Afrique Estate in Uyo. Led by their Worldwide President comrade Okuobong Amos Ufot, the students described Aniefiok Dennis as a leader and man of character and integrity who has all it takes to give the people of Etinan State constituency a befitting and effective representation.
They opined that since the world needs people of courage, integrity and foresight, they cannot afford to sit on the fence but to join hands in making sure that Dennis emerges the next House of Assembly member for Etinan state constituency.
They expressed excitement that Dennis had earlier resigned his appointment as the Senior Special Assistant on legal matters to the Governor to pursue the State Assembly nomination cum elections.
The group in her address observed that, THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ETINAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT STUDENTS (NAELGOS) WORLDWIDE is the only recognized students’ body in Etinan which comprises students from tertiary institutions world over with the aim to provide a common avenue for interactions, idea-sharing, capacity building as well as find solutions to our challenges.
Seeing ourselves as youths today in Iman, we gather with like-minds to target the fact that the youths of today are the leaders of tomorrow and tomorrow begin today. Therefore, with our great expectations to attain a better future, we accept not to neglect the activities of the present politicking as the platform leaders are made. Hence, our involvement in politics today cannot be over-emphasized.
Today, Nigeria is celebrating the 54th year of unbroken democratic governance whilst preparing to produce yet another set of leaders in 2015. Perhaps, some parts of the Nation are suffered without the expected dividends of democracy from government and some leaders refuse to listen to the people they represent when needs arise”.
The students noted further that, Etinan local government is highly blessed with prominent and potential men. The history and development of Akwa Ibom State today would never complete without mentioning the contributions of Etinan sons which Aniefiok Dennis is one of such.
They observed that the philanthropic and responsible nature of handling of public offices by Barr Aniefiok Dennis has accorded him a higher position and therefore they have no choice than to join hands in ensuring that Barr Dennis gets to the House of Assembly.
Furthermore Etinan students Worldwide maintained that, they have chosen to follow Barr Dennis because he has made Etinan proud and that he will continue to make them proud. They said, we have declared to support you (Barr Aniefiok Dennis) today, and we will follow you until you have a safe and blissful landing at the House of Assembly in 2015. This is a task of aluta, which cannot suffer procrastination – we must begin today!
