Ibeno Monarch receives commendation from youths

The Paramount Ruler of  Ibeno Local Government Area, HRM Owong Effiong B. Archianga has been commended by the youths of the area for the prevailing peace in the community and for his inclusive rulership.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, the Obong Mkparawa I of Ibeno, Obong Friday Ebong, said the monarch has brought peace and unity among the people of Ibeno through his open administration, truth and the fear of God.

The Youth Leader spoke to Newsmen at Mkpanak on Monday when the leadership of Ibeno Youth Assembly paid him a courtesy call in his skill acquisition centre located along QIT Road, Ibeno.

He described Owong Archianga as God-sent after the area had remained for years without a Paramount Ruler, pointing out that some Royal Fathers would have taken advantage of their position to segregate against those who felt that he should not have been elected as the new Paramount Ruler of Ibeno.

Obong Ebong hailed the monarch for creating a synergy between the youths of the area and the Royal Institution and called on the youths to continue to follow the counsel of elders of the area most especially during the forth-coming general elections.

“We must all be subject to higher authorities, take good counsel from our elders and leaders, as you can see, our Paramount Ruler is transparent, truthful and God fearing, so let’s support him through obedience because the future belongs to us”, the youth leader said.

He called on the State government to do something urgent about the poor State of Eket-Ibeno Road which was awarded to a  Chinese Construction firm but has been abandoned.

“The road is no more motorable and it has caused great suffering to the masses. I am calling on Governor Godswill Akpabio to facilitate the completion of the road which remains the only access road to Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited”, Obong Ebong said.
