NUJ Chairman gives tips for successful marriage

NUJ Chairman gives tips for successful marriage
Couples have been charged to remain totally faithful and love each other with an unconditional love if they must enjoy the fruits of marriage.

The chairman, Nigeria Union of journalists (NUJ) Akwa Ibom State Council, Elder Patrick Albert gave the charge while speaking as the governor of the wedding feast between former Miss Idara Edet Obot and Mr Idongesit Imeh Umoh at Samlaw Hotel, Uyo.

Advising the bride, the union chairman said, “Therefore, don’t harbour any third party in your marriage, nor keep confidential friends to discuss the goings on in the marriage. The depth of intimacy you enjoy with your husband and things that will be done together determine the health of the family,” he said.
Recalling how Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s rules of engagement to the extent that Adam left the wife to fall into Satan’s temptation, Elder Albert again urged the bridge to remain in total obedience to the bridegroom in all issues. “You must be very respectful and submissive to him and he will compliment you with total love and care,” he added.

The NUJ Chairman while commending the bridegroom for not wasting a second farther in locating his missing rib, stressed that marriage is a courageous step that must be taken by man in order to bring to fruition the biblical injunction “he who findeth a wife findeth a good thing and will obtain favour from the Lord.”

He charged the husband to seek to please God first and the wife at all times. “The first altar you must have in your life is God and the second altar is your wife, and this second altar must always be adorned with such word as ‘please’. Good communication at home keeps the home alive and lively and brings countless blessings and favour upon a man and his wife.”

The governor of the feast also admonished the bridegroom to remain totally faithful to the wife, adding “from physiognomical analysis of the bond between the newly weeded couple, I can say they are ready to enjoy a blissful marriage until Christ comes.”

The feast governor also prayed that since God has granted him excellent marriage; good health, children, etc, God in his mercy will bless them with fruitfulness that will cause us to once again gather to celebrate.
The reception ceremony was preceded by a solemnization of the marriage at the Assemblies of God, No. 5 AG Drive, Off Itu Road, Uyo.
