Be prayerful, and Alert  - Ekere tells supporters
With few days  to the start of  the nomination process of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), the immediate past Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State and leading PDP governorship aspirant, Mr. Nsima Ekere, has urged his supporters to be prayerful, steadfast and alert as victory was at hand.

Speaking during the solemn assembly of the Akwa Ibom Consolidation Project on Saturday, Mr. Ekere told his supporters to be fully involved in the Saturday, November 1, 2014 PDP ward congresses in which three delegates, who will vote in the House of Assembly, National Assembly and gubernatorial primaries, will be elected in each of the 329 wards of the state.

The former Deputy Governor reiterated his faith in God to grant him success in the gubernatorial primary which holds on Saturday, November 29, 2014.

His words: “We thank God for the journey so far. It has been very interesting and intriguing. We don’t get moved by the things we see in the physical because God knows the end from the beginning. At the end of the day, God will show Himself. The battle is not ours but the Lord’s. We believe that God will grant us victory.”
Mr. Ekere admonished his supporters to remain peaceful throughout the nomination period and the general elections.

The prayer and fasting programme, with the theme, “The Lord Will Do A New Thing,” featured word ministration by a cleric and medical doctor, Dr. Augustine Bassey, and intercessory prayers by several other clerics.

Dr. Bassey, who took his message from Isaiah 43:15-19 and 1 Samuel 10:1, said the election of the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State will be a supernatural event which will take a lot of people by surprise as God does not do things the way people expect.
He commended Mr. Ekere for having his people in mind as reflected in one of his messages, “Together, We Prosper.”
