Ifa Ikot Ubo youths get kudos —- launches 100million building project

The saying that when a righteous man is on the  throne the people rejoice, played out itself in Ifa Ikot Ubo village, Etoi clan in Uyo local government area of the state.

This is the testimony of Akparawa Ime Ita Eton’s leadership as the President of Ifa Ikot Ubo Youths Council which has endeared him to the heart of his people, especially the youths.

During the Council’s one year anniversary celebration/N100 million funds launch for the building of Ifa Ikot Ubo Village Council Hall held recently at Apostolic Primary School’s Sports ground in Ifa Ikot Okpon, Akparawa Eton while presenting his score card of achievements since assumption of office a year ago, said that he has opened 38 new roads in the village to drive development and create job opportunities for the teaming un-employed youths.

In addition, three youths have been trained to acquire skills on vocation of their choice in order to make them be self-employed, even as be employers of labour, a gesture it is hoped would help to curb vices commonly among the jobless youths. 


Eton also pledged a continuous mutual relationship between the youths and the village council in order to bring about more people-oriented programmes that would make the youths to realize their worth as leaders of tomorrow whom the community and indeed the state should look up to.

 In his remarks, Village Head of Ifa Ikot Ubo, Etteidung Essien Asuguo Udo-Idung commended the Youths’ President and his executive for the development strides and leadership styles which he noted have helped to maintain peace in the village.

Etteidung Udo-Idung who was represented on the occasion by the chairman of the village council, Elder Asuquo Etim Udo assured the youths of council readiness to donate land to them for the building of the Youths Hall and sued for continued cooperation with the village council to fast track development of the community.

Special guest of honour, Engr. Etim Eyoette noted the hand of God both in the affairs of Ifa Ikot Ubo Youths and Village Councils.  “Today is a red carpet day. All should rejoice and be thankful to God. God has blessed Ifa Ikot Ubo and it must take its rightful place in the schemes of things in the state’s development blueprint”, he stated.  

Earlier in a welcome address, the chairman of the anniversary planning committee, Mr. Desmond Eyoette expressed gratitude over the massive turnout of people, especially members of the three villages’ council of Ifa Ikot Ubo, Atai and Ifa Ikot Akpan-abia to grace the event which was chaired by Akparawa Tom Mkpongonyong.

Among them were, Etteidung Essien Udo Idiong, Chief essien Essien, Obong Etim Bassey Offiong Okuku Okon Edet Udoabasi, Etteidung Tom Udo and Hon. Effiom Ita Okon.
