The member-elect for Esit Eket/ Ibono State Constituency, Hon. (Dr) Usoro Akpanusoh was amongst the 26 House of Assembly members-elect that were presented with Certificates of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday at Udo Udoma, Avenue, Uyo.

Immediately after the presentation, Dr. Usoro Akpanusoh led his supporters, friends as well as political stakeholders to his reception venue along Edet Akpan Avenue where the people were all in jubilant mood.
Addressing the people, the House of Assembly member-elect for Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Usoro Akpanusoh thanked God for the opportunity accorded him and the people for the confidence reposed in him to represent them in the State House of Assembly.
While maintaining that the Certificate of Return was a confirmation of the decision taken by the people of his constituency at the polls during the 11 April general election, Akpanusoh said: “I will empower the women, youths, give scholarships and I will be coming back to brief my people on the progress. I will work with the incoming government of Akwa Ibom State to ensure that dividends of democracy are felt in my Constituency. My representation at the State House Assembly will be very effective and my constituents will be proud of me.” He noted that when commences his legislative duties as the next House of Assembly member, he will attract developmental projects to the constituency, empower the youths and give scholarship to the people.
The vocal politician thanked INEC for conducting a free and fair elections in the State, the party PDP on which platform he contested the election, the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio for providing the enabling environment for him to thrive in the process of representing his people. Usoro used the opportunity to appeal to all his opponents to come and join hands with him as well as share those ideas so he can succeed.
Dr. Akpanusoh promised to deliver selfless service and effective representation to his constituent. According to him, “I call it a divine mandate to serve the people, I will not fail you. I will like to say a big thank you to God and to my people.”
The wife to the member-elect, Mrs. Ini Akpanusoh during a chart with THE INK, promised to work together with her husband to ensure women of the constituency are properly carried along.
Mrs. Ini Akpanusoh Said that by the grace of God, she and her husband will try as much as they can to fulfill all promises made during their campaigns to the people especially the women and youths.
She thanked the women of Esit Eket and Ibeno Local Government Areas for coming out en-mass to vote for her husband.
The Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Esit Eket LGA, Hon Godwin Abia while speaking with THE INK expressed happiness over Usoro Akpanusoh’s emergence as the next lawmaker. He said for Akpanusoh to have been presented with a Certificate of Return, shows the effort of PDP during the general elections, adding that the party worked tirelessly to make sure that the party came out successful.
Also speaking, the Director General of Kini-Abasi 2015, Mr. Martin Umoyo said he was delighted to have witnessed his principal being presented with a Certificate of Return, saying the journey started two years ago and that the campaign committee worked tirelessly to ensure Dr. Akpanusoh won the election.
A former council chairman of Esit Eket LGA, Hon. Victor Bassey Isangedighi described Akpanusoh’s victory as well deserved. He charged the member-elect to ensure good governance, good representation as well as bring good dividends of democracy, adding that Usoro Akpanusoh has the experience and qualities to represent the constituency effectively.
The Deputy Director General of Kini-Abasi 2015, Mr. Ikpebre Awakpe, who hails from Ibeno LGA said Usoro Akpanusoh will represent the people well even as he called on him to focus on human empowerments by creating job opportunities for the youths.
A PDP EXCO member, Prince Inyang Bassey said Usoro Akpanusoh’s emergence is a mission accomplished. Prince Bassey, who is the State Assistant Organizing Secretary 11, called on the member-elect to ensure the people feel the impact of good representation.
The PDP chapter chairman of Ibeno LGA, Mr. Eko Akwang maintained that Akpanusoh’s victory is well deserved. He expressed hope that Usoro will not fail the people, while Comrade Imo Sam Okodie expressed confident that Usoro Akpanusoh will deliver on his campaign promises.
