May 29-Buhari’s pronouncement will shock Nigerians - Okori
A chieftain of the All  Progressives Congress, APC and the party’s Senatorial candidate for the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial district,  Chief Inibehe Okori has declared that contrary to claims  by some segment of the public that Nigeria’s President Elect, Gen Mamahadu Buhari has no  plan for the country, Buhari will make major policy pronouncements on May 29 once sworn in that will not only shock critics but prove to both the country and the International Community that it is no longer business as usual in the way and manner things are done in the country.

Okori who stated this while speaking in Ikono at the traditional marriage of former Miss Idongesit Bassey, daughter of Rt Hon. Dr Clement Bassey; Director General of the Inibehe Okori Campaign Organization,  said the Presidential proclamation, disposition, patriotism, dedication and discipline Buhari will bring to bear from May 29 will go a long way in restoring the hope,  faith and confidence of the citizens in the country.

Chief Okori explained that unlike other president’s who were not prepared for leadership  but foisted on the country by individuals and interest groups, the President elect has consistently presented himself to the electorate to lead the country on four occasions  and had his vision well enunciated. “ Buhari is taking over government on the 29th of May and from that day, I expect that he will make major pronouncements  that will position Nigeria for greatness. This country must have a direction and move in the way it should.  We don’t have any reason to be poor.  We have no reason to remain the way we are not after earning more than $50 billion annually from oil and gas”.

He explained that while the expectations of the people from the incoming administration is high, there is the need for Nigerians to be patient with the Buhari administration as Rome was not built in a day. He assured the people that within a period of one year , the international perception about the  country will change and Nigeria will regain her rightful place in the comity of nations, nothing with delight that the APC is not an accidental party neither is  Buhari an accidental President as he has a blueprint to move Nigeria to the next level.

Chief Okori lamented the poor state of the Uyo Afaha Nkan Nkwot Nnung Ukum road which has remain a motorists nightmare and regretted that the people of Ikono are made to suffer untold hardship from a government that claimed it had already completed the road at the cost of #26.4 billion in the 2014 budget. Ikono people he said have no reason to have this kind of road from a Governor who calls himself an uncommon transformer who has received over #3 trillion from 2007 till date, but reassured the people that the issue of bad roads  in the area will be tackled headlong by the incoming APC administration.

“ We will conquer bad roads  in Ikono with Buhari as our President.  We must build this country and take it away from poverty. We have no reason to be driving in this kind of road. There is poverty in the land, the road is very terrible and it’s very painful.  We will address the issue of bad roads  in Ikono. I can assure you that very soon, Ikono people will start to reap the benefit of voting and supporting the APC”, he declared.

He commended Dr Clement Bassey for believing in the vision and ideology of the APC and specifically commended him for accepting to serve as the Director General (DG)of the Inibehe Okori Campaign Organisation and thanked Dr Bassey for his commitment, sacrifice, dedication, loyalty, discipline, moral consistency and patriotism towards the realization the Okori Senatorial project, describing the life and disposition of Dr Bassey as virtues worthy of emulation by the younger generation of Ikono people.

He expressed delight at the political harmony, unity  and cohesion that exist between his DG and Senator Aloysius Etok assuring that the unity of purpose between the two leading political leaders of Ikono nation will go a long way to attracting more  dividends of democracy to the people of the area. “ Am proud of you and am happy to see that Senator Aloysius is here to support you. Continue to work harmoniously with Senator Aloysius ,don’t differ. I believe in  unionism as a process  that helps improves the lives of the people “,he admonished. He prayed for the success of the marriage between Miss Idongesit Bassey and Emiye George and asked God to bless the union.

The event also had in attendance Senator Aloysius Etok , Chairman Abak Division Association; ADA, Arc Okon Obot, the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial district Chairman of APC;  Chief Kufre Inyangette ,Chief Sunny Ibanga , as well as APC supporters from the ten Local Government Areas of the Senatorial district.
