Akpabio urges Nigerian Army to make right logistics for better results
Akwa Ibom Governor, Chief Godswill  Akpabio has stressed the need for Nigerian Army to make available the right logistics for the army to achieve better results in battles.

Akpabio stated this Monday when participants of Senior Executive Course (SEC) No.37 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos and officers of the Nigerian Army College
of Logistics (NACOL), Lagos paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Uyo.

Akpabio remarked, “The army can succeed when the right logistics is being provided for them. The success of any military operations must start with logistics and I must appeal to the army to provide the
necessary logistics to their officials for the effective disposal of their duties”.

He then thanked the participants for choosing the state for their study tour, stressing that the state government would assist them and also give them the necessary advice on how the state achieved the uncommon transformation of the state.


The governor urged them to consider building a cottage industry in the state, which he said, will provide the necessary logistics to the army and create employment opportunities, applauding President Goodluck Jonathan for providing adequate logistics to the army.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the team, Professor Celestine Bassey, who had thanked Governor Akpabio for welcoming them to the state for their study tour, hinted that the study tour has been approved by President Jonathan, explaining that the reason for the study tour is to address the challenges of educational system in the country.

Bassey, who explained that the theme for the study tour is ‘’Repositioning Education for Global Perspective’’ with 24 students in attendance, said that they have followed the development of education in the state during the Akpabio administration and applauded him for transforming the education sector in the state.

Also speaking, the Commandant of Nigerian Army College of Logistics, Major Gen. Abubakar Gana, said the college was established in 2002 with the primary aim of training cadet officers in the Nigerian Army,
Navy and Police Force, which he said involves strategy, tactics and logistics.

Major- Gen. Gana disclosed that they would gradually tour all the states of the federation and that the tour in Akwa Ibom state would stimulate the interest of the people towards the army.
