The God’s Agenda organization monthly fellowship has continued to attract more worshippers as nine choir groups competed for trophies donated by the Member representing Abak State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Elder Friday Iwok to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The choir competition and prayer meeting which had as its theme “Oh! Give thanks unto the Lord” was graced by top government functionaries, politicians, the clergy, members of the traditional institution and members of the God’s Agenda family.
In his goodwill message, the organizer of the competition, Elder Friday Iwok expressed joy at the high level of excellence exhibited the competing choirs at the event and promised to sustain the annual choir competition.
Elder Iwok who is the Chairman, House Committee on Health congratulated the winners and other participating choir groups for their resilience and presented trophies to the first, second and third place winners and cash award as consolation prizes to the other six choir groups.
On his part, the Member representing Nsit Ubuim State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Barr. Onofiok Luke appreciated Elder Iwok for honouring God and called on the people of Abak to continue to support the Assemblyman to do more for them.
In his remarks, the Political Father of Essien Udim, Obong Michael Afangideh said he was impressed by the high profile of representation given to Abak by Elder Friday Iwok at the State Assembly.
The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Aniekan Umanah represented by the Personal Assistant, Mr. Emman Etim admitted that he was a beneficiary of the monthly solemn assembly organized by the Assemblyman in Abak and declared his support for the fellowship.
The chairman on the occasion and former Member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Sunyekekere Inokon stated that the choir competition has provided the singers the opportunity to fellowship with God in singing and dancing and donated cash prizes to the first, second and third place winners of the choir competition.
Other speakers including the Prelate Goodnews Community International, Abak, Arch. Bishop Elijah Mboho and the General manager NTA Uyo, Mr. Chidi Onuka commended the God’s Agenda organization for choosing thanksgiving as the theme of the prayer meeting and the choir competition.
In his exhortation, Bishop Moswill Umoh of Rapture Trust Ministries Incorporated, Ikot Akpa Nkuk, Ukanafun maintained that thanksgiving was a strong weapon to attract God’s blessing and favour for a more prosperous living.
Bishop Umoh made reference the one leper who returned to give thanks among the ten Jesus Christ cleansed and called on believers and politicians to emulate Elder Friday Iwok by conducting regular thanksgiving to God.
At the end of the competition Vision Choral Group, Abak emerged the winner followed by Heritage Choir, Offot, Abak while Future Builders Intuitive Choir clinched the third position.
Others who went home with consolation cash prizes were; God’s Agenda Heavenly Choir, Divine Tools Choir, Afaha Obong, Concerned Youth Choir, Ediene, Hezekiah Singers, Abak, Shining Stars, Eka Nto Obo and God’s Agenda Women’s Forum Choir, Abak.
