The member elect for Esit Eket/Ibeno state constituency, Hon Usoro Akpanusoh has said that the legislative studies which members of Houses of Assemblies across the nation were treated to last week was an eye- opener and a step in the right direction towards effective legislative business.
Usoro spoke to THE INK reporter from Abuja shortly before they departed from the nation’s capital. He said the event which was organized by the National Institute for legislative studies was declared opened by the President of the Senate, David Mark.
He also observed that the resource persons who gave lectures at the four-day event were tested and trusted, adding that the members were drilled on effective law making and how to ensure a smooth and cordial relationship with members of the Executive.
Speaking further, the former organizing secretary of the PDP noted that members of the Houses of Assemblies were fulfilled that they attended the programme. He maintained that back home in Akwa Ibom State, the elected members were excited to have attended the programme and affirmed that the lectures learnt will be used to impact positively on their representation of the people.
Akpanusoh however appreciated the Akwa Ibom State Government for providing them with a platform to sojourn to Abuja for the week-long programme and promised that they will not fail Akwa Ibomites and members of their respective constituencies.
