AKSU Chancellor applauded Gov. Akpabio on development stride

The Emir of Kazure, Alhaji Naijb Hussani Adamu, who is the chancellor of the Akwa Ibom State University has been applauded for the success of the institution as the first set of students recently graduated from the school.

Governor Godswill Akpabio, made the remark Saturday when the Emir paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor’s Office Uyo, remarked, “Your presence in the state and a chancellor of the state university has underscored a lot, which has brought to the success of the university since its conception five years ago.
 “You have always been a success that’s why the university has been successful today and your presence today signifies a bond of brotherhood between you and the state government”, he said.
The governor then thanked the University Governing Council for the success of the institution, assuring the people of the state that the governor-elect, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel would continue with the educational strides of the present administration.

The Chancellor of the Akwa Ibom State University, the Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Naijb Adamu thanked Governor Akpabio for his vision in establishing, nourishing and sustaining the effort of the university.
He said the university would do all they can to sustain the institution and stressed that now that the elections are over, Nigerians must embrace each other to build a better and unified country.

The emir thanked Governor Akpabio for what he has also done for the state through development and congratulated him on his success during the recent Senate elections, stressing that his fruitful service as
Governor will remain with him in the Senate for the people to benefit from yet another uncommon transformation in legislative functions.

Meanwhile, Nigerian youths especially those in the entertainment industry have been charged to shun drugs so as to become a pride to the nation.
Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State gave the charge Saturday in Uyo, during the birthday celebration of popular Akwa Ibom-born musical artiste, MC Galaxy (Sekem) also known as Innocent Udeme Udofort.

Akpabio remarked, “Our youths, especially those in the entertainment industry, should shun drugs which can only destroy. No matter the peer pressure, they should not indulge in it, for it is a tragedy for a potential youth to be a failure in life. So, I charge you all to be of good character and a pride to the nation”.

He cited example of those who suffered the consequences of taking drugs, like those who were recently executed in Indonesia as well as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and her daughter, among others.
Congratulating the celebrator, he said that the people of the state are proud of him, and thanked him for promoting the state more in his music and being a light to both his family and country, praying God to make him shine more and more.

The governor thanked the mother of the celebrator for giving birth to a child that has made the state and country proud, praying for God to keep and grant her more years to enjoy the fruits of her labour.

Akpabio also thanked the guests who came out en-mass to celebrate with their very own as he marked his birthday and also thanked Akwa Ibom people for supporting him throughout his administration.

The governor-elect, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, described MC Galaxy as a promising artiste who has made the state proud, commended Governor Akpabio for supporting and encouraging Akwa Ibom artistes in the entertainment industry, pledging to carry the entertainment industry along when he comes in as the next governor and believing that artistes in the state would in future win Grammy awards.
