I have read the punch publication of October 12, 2014 on the above subject, and therefore wishes to make the following wishes remarks based on the publication.
1. As a chapter chairman, it is mandatory to open doors to receive all aspirants vying for Governorship position and other political offices.
2. It is true that Okoko and his campaign team were received by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) office in Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A. on Friday 3rd October, 2014 in the evening.
3. It is surprising that the publication to which the Governorship aspirant Benjamin Okoko and the former Deputy Governor, Obong Chris Ekpenyong have affirmed to, are full lies and deceit and leave an impression of governance that be full deceit and lies if voted into power.
4. Benjamin Okoko, his wife, Dr. Chris Ekpeyong and the teaming audience will attest to the unfolding drama of the triumvirate trying to forcefully grab and raise the two hands of the PDP Chapter Chairman in Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A. in the person Obong Emmanuel Bassey Ukim, as a mark of support for Benjamin Okoko a show of shame to both the visitors and the audience who watch with surprise, the struggle that evolved between the Chapter Chairman, Okoko, his wife, and Obong Chris Ekpenyong, which the reverse should have been the case.
5. I wish to bring to the notice all readers of this publication that Hon. Prince Uwem Ita Etuk is the political of Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A. and Uyo federal Constituency, and by extention, the party takes directives from him,the state PDP Chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo and from His Excellency, Obong Godswill Akpabio who is the leader of PDP in the Akwa Ibom state presently, and not the former Governor, Obong Victor Attah.
6. Obong Victor Attah knows that during his tenure as the Governor of Akwa Ibom state, all party formations were loyal to him as a leader of the party then it will be out of place for him to expect that the party formation in Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A. should be loyal to him instead o Governor Godswill Akpabio who leads the party in Akwa Ibom state.
7. Okoko is aware of the fact that his unconditional sacrifice as claimed by him to surrender his ambition for Governorship to Obong Victor Attah in 1999 was his personal decision and should not be used to whip sentiments and sympathy from the people of Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A. in particular and Uyo senatorial District at large. It is my believe that Obong Victor Attah must have compensated him for his unconditional sacrifice which he had not once mentioned to the general public.
8. Finally, it is therefore my humble submission that Okoko, his wife, Obong Chris Ekpeyong and his campaign team should desist from cheap blackmail to deform character in their struggle to actualize Okoko’s governorship dreams.
Obong Emmanuel Ukim
Chapter Chairman
