Akpabio joins Senate race
Governor Godswill Akpabio has heeded to the clarion calls by the people of  Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District to contest for the senatorial seat in 2015 under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Akpabio, who stated this Wednesday at Ukana in Essien Udim LGA when the youths of Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District presented him with PDP Senatorial nomination form for the forthcoming PDP  primaries at a reception organized by Esop Mbong Ikpaisong Afud Annang said “I have been under pressure by the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District to represent them as a Senator in 2015. I want  to say that I have accepted the call to serve my people”.

Akpabio commended Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District youths for their show of love and support to his administration, saying that “Akwa Ibom State is a peaceful place because youths have shunned  criminality. Youths have supported government efforts in the State and this is why we are able to build a state of equal opportunity for all the youths”.


The representative of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District youths, Chief Moses Akpan while presenting the nomination to the to the Governor commended Governor Akpabio for giving Akwa Ibom State a voice at the national level.

Akpan said “the Governor still has capacity to do more for the Senatorial District, Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria. This is why we have decided to sent him to represent us at the Senate in 2015. We are sure
that he will give us effective representation and make our State proud”.

Earlier, the President of Esop Mbong Ikpaisong Afud Annang, Obong James Obosi had thanked Akpabio, who hails from the tribe for giving his effective leadership and uncommon transformation to Akwa Ibom State.

Obong Obosi said Esop Mbong Ikpaisong Afud Annang had earlier met and passed a resolution, urging Akpabio to vie for Senate in 2015 in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.
