The Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Communications, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, has condoled with Mr. Effiong Okon Umoh, a driver in his office on the death of his guardian and sister, late Deaconess Regina Etim James Atanga.
In a condolence message to Mr. Effiong Okon Umoh, the Information Commissioner expressed deep sorrow at the death of his driver’s guardian and sister, at a time her wise counsel and services were much needed and urged the bereaved family to be consoled that their late wife, mother and sister lived a life worthy of emulation, with indelible footprints on the sands of time.
Mr. Aniekan Umanah who acknowledged that the vacuum created by the demise of late Deaconess Atanga would be difficult to fill, prayed the good Lord to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss and the soul if late Deaconess Atanga eternal repose in the bosom of God.
Until her death, late Deaconess Atanga of Ikot Uso Akpan, Itam in Itu Local Government Area, who died at the age of 65, was a successful trader and a devout Christian of the Apostolic faith.
According to close family sources, the remains of late Deaconess will be buried on 28th June, 2014, in her family compound, after a funeral Service by The Apostolic Church, Ikot Uso Akpan Assembly by 10.45am.
Other activities lined-up for the funeral of late Deaconess Atanga include: A service of songs to be held on Friday 27th June, 2014 by 6pm and a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday 29th June,2014 by 10 .00 a.m.
Late Deaconess Regina Atanga is survived by one son, Uwem Atanga, five daughters, Aniekan, Emem, Ndifreke, Itohowo and imaobong, as well as a daughter-in-law, Patience Uwem Atanga, among others.
