A former Chairman of Urue Offong Oruko Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State, Chief Edet Isong has once again re-assured that despite the present injustice meted out on Oro Nation, the people of the area will remain resolute and work towards the actualization of an Oro Governor in 2015.
Chief Edet Isong who is the International President of the Good Governance Group International (GGG) and Okosisi 1 and Mokafa of Efut described Oro Nation as one of the tripods which the states political structure rests on and as such, with the rotation from Uyo to Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts, the people of Oro Nation should be given the right to first consideration in the recent zoning agitation for Eket Senatorial District.
He decried the lack of infrastructural development in Oro Nation and called for unity among the people of the area in this tempestuous times and not be distracted despite the open narrow ended favoritism against the people of Oro Nation in the 2015 governorship elections.
“We believe in equity and justice and we believe that Governor Akpabio should create a level playing field, a credible platform to give the Oro Nation and equal opportunity to build bridges across Eket Senatorial district and other senatorial districts in Akwa Ibom State”, Chief Edet Isong stated.
“The present infrastructural challenges in Oro Nation calls for a sober reflection and the respect and dignity as we have always been integral in past elections to chart a new course for the people of Akwa Ibom State,” he further added.
“2015 should not be different or treated with deceit. Oro Nation deserves a better deed for quality leadership and we have people of integrity that can sustain the change we desire”, he said.
