2015: National Assemblyman hits Akpabio

2015: National Assemblyman hits Akpabio
Says Gov has nothing to show in Oro nation for nearly 8 years

In reaction to what many considered a long silence over the 2015 governorship election which the masses of Oro ethnic extraction have been agitating that they should be given the slot to produce governor, the member representing Oron Federal Constituency in the green chamber of National Assembly, Hon. Robinson Uwak, in a demonstration of raw courage, has stated that the struggle for Oro 2015 is a different kind of struggle as it is not about territory, land or cash but about identity of a people, the right of the Oro ethnic nationality and the very spirit of the Oro people.

Describing Governor Akpabio’s “open show of hatred for the Oro ethnic nationality as he arm twists the state to deny the Oro people governorship” in 2015 which he likened to amputation of the Spirit or identity of the Oro people, which cure he said was yet to be found.

“The struggle for Oro 2015 is a different kind of struggle. It is not about territory, land or cash. It’s about the IDENTITY of a people, the right of the Oro ethnic nationality, the very SPIRIT of the Oro people” he stated.

Hon. Uwak described Governor Akpabio as “an uncommon transformer of Annang land and just parts of Uyo with nothing to show in Oro for nearly eight hard years”, assuring that he would resist the amputation of his spirit come 2015.

“I have seen cure for amputees of different forms and causes but I have searched and still can’t find a cure to an amputated SPIRIT or IDENTITY . This is exactly what His Excellency Governor Godswill Obot Akpabio (CON) the uncommon transformer of Annang land and just parts of uyo with nothing to show in Oro for nearly eight hard years will hand the lot of you as he continues his open show of hatred for the Oro ethnic nationality as he arm twists the state to deny the oro people governorship. I Robinson Uwak will resist the amputation of my spirit!”, Hon. Uwak said.

Speaking from the “depth” of his heart as he stated in a post on his facebook wall recently, he said there comes a time for a man to stand firm and that as leaders at different levels, integrity and courage was demanded of  leaders and that as a people they(including himself) have come to the crossroads of their political history, just as he has come to the crossroads of his political future, adding that his first loyalty is to his origin and the blood that flows in him, which is the Oro blood.

He stated further that no one can represent a people “if not that the blood of such a people flows purely through his veins regardless of his connections or affiliations. This is why as good a representative as I may be I cannot represent the Annang people and vice versa”.

“As a people we have come to the crossroads of our political history; as a person I have come to the crossroads of my political future.   I have always preached that our first loyalty is to the blood that flows in us; the Oro blood...”he said.

He stated further, “This means that our primary qualification is our blood and origin. I have seen men go out to war. Some come back amputated due to injuries sustained in the cause of the struggle. Those amputated can always access solutions like artificial arms, legs and other parts of the body that can be substituted”.

In a raw display of bravado, Hon. Uwak threw to the wind what most elected and serving officers of government would cherish to keep to show that his political future though very important, was sacrificed at the altar of his position on 2015.

Hear him out, “Even if it costs my political future. What will you do? Choose what your spirit will wear come 2015, clutches or POP? Stand Up for your  spirit; your identity . Let’s oppose vehemently the amputation of our spirit!  Let our children know what we stood for at the crossroads! Ojei! Ojei! Bari  2015 Oro edi ka!!!”

Hon. Uwak’s position on 2015, many say was a demonstration of guts that is considered rare as his action was a complete departure from what most politicians do in the recent time.  While some politicians of Oro extraction are said to have pitched tent with the interest of government  singing the swan song of Mr Udom Emmnauel for 2015 governorship, the national lawmaker has mustered courage to declare his stand and also called for the people of this constituency to do so in 2015.
