Group urges Dan Akpan to declare for second term BY EMMANUEL AKPAN

A group known as Etinan Federal Constituency Forum, Abuja has called on the member representing Etinan Federal Constituency in the National Assembly Hon. Dan Akpan to run for a second term.

Chatting with some selected Editors in Uyo over the weekend, the President, Obong Jackson Ndueso who spoke on behalf of the forum described Hon. Dan Akpan’s representation at the National Assembly as effective and impressive to the people of the Federal Constituency.

Obong Ndueso who praised the lawmaker for facilitating life-touching projects in Nsit Ibom, Nsit Ubium and Etinan Local Government Areas making up the Federal Constituency, said that most of the projects are more beneficial to the common people at the grassroots.

Apart from the life-touching projects facilitated by Hon. Dan Akpan, the President further commended the lawmaker for training the people of the constituency in various trades and also empowering them in various ways.

While calling on all the sons and daughters of Etinan Federal Constituency to support Hon. Dan Akpan for another term in office, Obong Jackson Ndueso noted that there is no constitutional barrier in the Etinan Federal Constituency restraining a political office holder for a single term, adding that nothing is wrong for Dan Akpan whom he described as the leader of the group and a man of the people, to seek a second term.

According to the president “there is nothing wrong in going for second term, Dan Akpan has performed creditably well, so we should give him another opportunity to go back and continue his good works at the National Assembly. Representation should be by merit.

Dan Akpan has touched so many lives in the three local government areas making up Etinan Federal Constituency. After all, our brother from Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Emah Bassey represented us for two terms.

In addition, Mr. Solomon Umana, a member of the forum maintained that one good term deserves another even as he called on the people of the constituency to see the need and necessity to return Dan Akpan to the National Assembly to continue his effective representation come 2015.
