 Immediate past commissioner for Finance, Mr. Bassey Albert Akpan has continued to take his campaign trend to every nook and cranny of the state. Last Friday, he paid a consultation visit to Mr. Uko Umoh who is the Publisher of Community Pulse Newspaper and the Chairman League of Newspaper Publishers.


Albert who was accompanied to the NEPA LINE residence of Uko Umoh by the DG of his campaigns, Deputy DG, secretary amongst others informed the Pulseman that he had to come to inform him of his intention in view of the role Umoh plays in the state and appealed to the Etinan born businessman to support his ambition as he will ensure that he continues with the strides of Governor Godswill Akpabio.
The Ibiono Ibom born politician also poured encomiums on Governor Akpabio describing him as his boss, mentor and leader. He said his intent to contest the 2015 governorship election in Akwa Ibom state is propelled by God and maintained that given the level of support he is currently enjoying from Akwa Ibomites, he does not have doubts in his mind that he will emerge victorious by 2015.

Uko Umoh while responding thanked Mr. Bassey Albert for finding him worthy to be consulted. He said the gesture goes to prove that Bassey Albert has not lost his humility which has endeared him to so many people. 

He informed the former Finance Commissioner that he is humbled by such show of solidarity and described Albert as a friend of his whose service to Akwa Ibom People and loyalty to the Governor Godswill Akpabio is quite commendable. Uko Umoh further advised Bassey Albert to go about his campaigns wholistically without rancor of problems. 

He urged Bassey Albert to eschew sentiments on the line of ethnicity and religion as he goes about soliciting for support.
