The long awaited Nigerian Universities Engineering Students’ Association (NUESA), University of Uyo Chapter pageantry and awards night ended in a huge disappointment as students hopes and expectations for a bumper treat were let down.
The event which had formed the topic of discussion for many students in the university community was expected to be best of all nights in the school but the reverse was the case.
Popular Nigeria singer Harry song who was expected to be the guest artiste was nowhere to be found near the venue. This made most of the students to leave the venue very early in anger and disappointment.
Another sad development was the number seats that were found empty in the hall as many students stayed back from the due to violent nature of “engine boys”. One of the students who spoke with us described the night as a disappointment “I am very very disappointed in them ( faculty of Engineering) I expected them to do better than this because they have not held any night in the last 4 to 5 years” he added, “May be another reason students stayed was due to violent nature of engine boys”.
