UNIUYO matriculates 7447 students

University of Uyo on Thursday, 17 July 2014 holds her 21st matriculation ceremony at the school mini stadium. The matriculation ceremony formally admits 7447 students into the school.

The ceremony which started at about 10am played to the vice chancellor Prof. Comfort Ekpo, the registrar Prof. Edak Umoh Ndak and a host of other Profs. and lecturers of the school.

The matriculating student processed to their various stands with their Deans. The procession was led by the faculty of Agric. with their natural green gown followed by the faculty of Arts with their usual black gown and others according to their alphabetical hierarchy.

The vice chancellor gave a breakdown of the number of student admitted into the university the university as follows: a total of 7447 student matriculated, 3870 student were admitted through the post UTME exams, 1651 from diploma, 113 from certificate, 202 are admitted into part time programme, 120 into sandwich programme, 754 masters and 121 into the post graduate diploma.
The vice chancellor in her speech advice the student to be of good character and behavior, shun cultism and be serious in their academy.
