Put God first, Ekere tells supporters

Put God first, Ekere tells supporters
As the 2015 gubernatorial race gathers momentum, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Nsima Ekere KJW, has admonished his teeming supporters in the state to put God first in their dealings.

Speaking during the inaugural monthly fasting and prayer meeting of the Akwa Ibom Consolidation Project (AKCP) in Uyo on Saturday, Mr. Ekere argued that it paid better to trust in God than in chariots and horses.

He said it was obvious that the project was being driven by God and was, therefore, heading for success given the numerous battles, known and unknown, God had fought and won on its behalf.
Mr. Ekere expressed delight that the group was gradually inching towards the realization of the mandate of God but called for more faith in God, commitment, steadfastness and vigilance.

In his sermon, Apostle Patrick Jerome, the Prelate of Christ Believers’ (Evangelical) Mission, Uyo, prayed God to choose for Akwa Ibom State a leader that will lead the people to him and glorify His name.

Commending Governor Godswill Akpabio for doing his best for the state, he reasoned that Akwa Ibom needed a new Governor that would do greater exploits.
The cleric lauded Mr. Ekere for starting with a prayer meeting instead of campaign, pointing out that it showed that the former Deputy Governor had more than politics in mind but also the blessing of the land.

He equally commended Mr. Ekere for planning to build a worship centre for God in each of the 31 local government areas and urged him not to be afraid as the battle ahead was not his but the Lord’s.

The meeting featured a Bible reading by Mr. Ekere, a prayer of thanksgiving by Dr. Austin Bassey and intercessory prayers by Prof. Aniekan Ekere, Dr. Sylvanus Ukafia, Rev. (Mrs.) Idy Abikpa, Rev. Ime Ibanga, Bishop Joseph Ekpo and Sir Gabriel Ekere.
