A frontline socio-political group in the country, the Youth Empowerment Sustenance Initiative (YES Initiative for Goodluck Jonathan) has assured the people of Akwa Ibom State that they will mobilize the people of the state to vote overwhelmingly for the re-election of President Jonathan at the 2015 general elections.
Addressing the leadership of an apex socio-political organization in Akwa Ibom State The Progressive Akwa People Assembly (PAPA) during a Consultative visit in Uyo last week, the leader of the group, Atai Albert stated that the YES Initiative has a laid solid sensitization structure having successfully initiated and executed the Door to Door Initiative Programme in 2011 during the election of President Jonathan and re-election of Governor Godswill Akpabio.
Mr. Atai Albert further stated that the group is raising volunteers for the 2015 general elections as President Jonathan has diligently delivered on his promises to the people of Nigeria and deserves a second term in office.
He assured that an intensive mobilization of volunteers and the electorate would be immediately started to sensitize the people of the state on President Jonathan re-election.
In his response, the Director General of PAPA, Hon. Obot James described the visit of the YES Initiative for Jonathan as another landmark in the actualization of the re-election of President Jonathan and assured the leadership of the group that PAPA is ready to partner for the success of the set objectives of the programme and would give all necessary support, mobilizing the necessary structures across the 31 Local Government Area to fulfill the mandate which the mission sets to achieve.
Other members of PAPA who spoke at the occasion include the Hon. Nsikak Essien who is the Vice Chairman stated that the group has been at the fore front to partner with the government since 2009 having been involved in free planting exercises contributing to curbing environmental degradation and provision of over 10,000 exercise books to primary schools in Akwa Ibom State.
The Secretary General of PAPA, Mr. Iniobong Akpan in his remarks charged the Goodluck YES Initiative group not to relent in its drive to mobilize volunteers and members and assured that all necessary support would be given to the group, while an Elder of the association, Elder Eyo Ekong said the visit to PAPA had established a formal contact even as PAPA remains objective in the choice of the leader they will support.
He assured that the President would receive massive support in his re-election bid while Charles Ndanyongmong remarked that the visit was historic and a landmark event between both foremost organizations as PAPA will stand by truth in the general elections of 2015.
