Catholic Diocese of Uyo gets new Bishop BY KENNETH JUDE

The Catholic Diocese of Uyo has been blessed with  a new bishop since the former Bishop; Most Rev.
    Dr. Joseph E. Ekuwem was elevated to the position of Archbishop.
 
Rome announced the confirmation of Most Rev. Dr. Bishop John Ayah as the new bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Uyo. The Ogoja born clergyman who had been on acting capacity becomes the 

2nd Bishop of the 25-year old diocese.

In his installation speech as the Archbishop of Calabar Province, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Ekuwem had announced the Bishop of Ogoja Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. John Ayah as the Apostolic Administration of Uyo Diocese pending when a substantive bishop will be announced. 

Hence, after much intrigues, anxiety and widely circulated rumours, Most Rev. Dr. Bishop John Ayah was announced. His episcopacy begins when he is officially installed as the substantive bishop of the diocese
