Council Boss makes case for Uquo-Ikot Ubo abandoned road
The Esit Eket Council boss, Deacon Ibanga Etang has make a case for the constructions of Uquo -Ikot Ubo road with two collapsed bridges considering it economic importance to the people of both communities.

Etang, made the request when he led the commissioner representing Akwa Ibom on the Niger Delta Development Commission Mr. Etim Inyang Jnr. on an inspection tour of the road and the collapsed bridges.

According to him, the abandoned road and collapsed bridges constitutes a death trap to traders and women who sustain serious injuries while conveying their farm products to and from the market.
Etang lamented the deplorable state of the abandoned road and bridges which collapsed years ago, emphasized, it constitutes a serious setback to trade and commerce between Esit Eket and Nsit Ubium communities.

He further noted, the cost of the constructing the 12 kilometers road with two bridges exceeds the budget of the council, hence, need for the commission to undertake its reconstruction in the overall interest of the people.

Mr. Etim Inyang Jnr. in his remarks after the inspection decried the deplorable state of the road, especially the collapsed bridges.

He restated the determination of the commission to make a difference by providing basic amenities like roads, electricity etc.to improved trade and the living standard of the people of the region.
