Uwak canvasses support for Jonathan, charges youths to shun vices

The National Coordinator of a frontline socio-cultural and political group in the state, Ikpoto Akwa Ibom, Mr. Nsima Uwak, has appealed to youths of the state to support the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan regardless of the seeming security challenges in the country.

He expressed optimism that the current security situations in the country will soon be a thing of the past and urged youths of the state to disengage from vices that will mar the state’s image and development.

Uwak, who made the appeal while addressing a cross-section of Akwa Ibom youths shortly after the ground breaking ceremony of the permanent Secretariat of the State Chapter of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) by Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, assured that Ikpoto Akwa Ibom, at all levels, has been positioned to enable PDP sweep the forthcoming general elections.
He  commended the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Mu’azu, for giving the party, whose aims and objectives fit perfectly to those of Ikpoto Akwa Ibom, hope and notable successes across the country.
The National Coordinator charged youths of the state to shun vices and tendencies that will jeopardize the growth of the state and their future, but to embrace peace, togetherness, unity, love and harmony, saying “every meaningful development that has been achieved or hoped to be achieved is tied to these.”
Uwak, who called on youths to continue to support the infrastructural development of the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, who has proven beyond reasonable doubt that governance was to better the lots of the people of the state, expressed gratitude for the success of the ground breaking ceremony.

He advised the youths to always mobilize their efforts towards the implementation of development programmes that affects their immediate communities.

The National Coordinator implored members of the group to hold strongly to the tenets that brought about the body, according to him “a sober acknowledgement of the anti-progressive and decisive tendency inspired the founding of Ikpoto Akwa Ibom by indigenes of the state who realized the need to unite as a people for common good, and with full consciousness of its collective responsibility to promote understanding and harmony for purposes of fostering and maintaining intercultural cohesion and being desirous to create for our people a platform for positive socio-cultural/political integration, educational and economic advancement.”

He further thanked the youths for the massive turnout to welcome the PDP National Chairman, maintaining that the state will continue to be a stronghold of the ruling party.
