ICA inaugurate chapters

Vehicular and human traffic came to a standstill along Mbo Road in Oron on Thursday as Ibom consolidated Assembly (ICA) inaugurated Oron, Mbo, Udunguko, Okobo and Urueffong /Uroko Local Government Area Chapters of the organization.

Thousands of people mostly members, thronged out at the Government Primary School Playgroup Iquita Oron to witness the epoch making event, courtesy of the Clement weather and the gladiators behind the group.

In his opening speech, Hon. Imowo Udobia, who is the Eket Senatorial District Coordinator of the group and former Local Government Chairman of Mkpat Enin said that Ibom Consolidated Assembly is an Organization of homogenous minds with a focus on good governance, justice, equity and consolidation of the achievement of Governor Godswill Akpabio’s administration.

“As a front-line socio – political organization in Akwa Ibom State with members in the Diaspora and as a support group for good governance under the people Democratic Party, we have carefully surveyed the political build –up to 2015 gubernatorial election in the State and has finally decided to support and encourage the aspiration of senator Helen Esuene as Governor come 2015” Hon Udobia said.
He described ICA members as grassroot achievers, democrats, patriots, lawful citizen and above all people with genuine intension towards the rapid transformation of Akwa Ibom State into a model State of industrialization and development.

Hon. Imowo extolled the good qualities of Senator Helen Esuene, member representing Eket Senatorial District in National Assembly, describing her as a worthy servant who will diligently consolidate on the gains of the present administration as Governor, adding that Akwa Ibom State which is noted for being the first to do things will in 2015 be the first State to produce a democratically elected woman Governor in Nigeria.

He commended members for their vision and called on them to remain steadfast as God will see to it that the peoples’ choice manifests as Governor come 2015.

The National President of ICA, Mr. Utip Etibiet while administering  the Oath of Office and allegiance to the chapter coordinators and other executive members charged them not to be confrontational in their approach to political discuss but to throw to the fore the political ideology of the group which centers on issues rather than personages.

Hon Etiebiet said Senator Helen Esuene will be Sworn-in as the next Governor of the State comes May 29, 2015 and that those who peddle gender issues in their Political permutations are people with myopic minds and absurd intelligence.

Those sworn –in as chapter coordinators are; Hon Paul Eyo, Oron, Rt Hon Kingsley Inieko, Mbo, Godwin Asuqwo Okon, Udunguko, Etim Okon Edet, Okobo and Hon. Spencer Afangine, Urueffong / Uroko.

Dignitaries during the event included, Barrister Orok Orok, Hon. Ekanem Willie, Hon. Mrs. Mercy Ita, Hon. Ekpuk and Hon. Emman Inyang among others.
