2015: Ika youths endorse Akpabio, Udom, Enyiekere, ors ... Adopt Enoidem as political leader

Ahead of the 2015 general elections in Akwa Ibom State, the youths of Ika Local Government Area have unanimously endorsed the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio as their sole candidate for the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District seat and the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for governorship.

They have also endorsed the member representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Ekon to continue in his office for a second term, while the executive chairman of Ika Local Government Area, Chief Saviour Enyiekere is to contest the Etim Ekpo/Ika State Constituency seat at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. They have as well joined political groups to call on President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2015 presidential election.

The endorsement was a part of the resolutions taken by Ika youths during their Annual youths Summit last Saturday at the council headquarters, Urua Inyang.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Ika LGA, Chief Saviour Enyiekere said the summit was organised to strategize on how best to strengthen the ward structures of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika in order to win the forthcoming general election in the area.

Enyiekere stated that the summit was also to thank and appreciate Chief Godswill Akpabio for his developmental strides in Ika Local Government Area by way of endorsing him to represent Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District come 2015.

On governorship, Chief Saviour Enyiekere disclosed that stakeholders as well as the youths of the area had taken a decision to support Mr. Udom Emmanuel as their preferred candidate. He advised youths of the area not to be confused by political distracters but rather support the PDP. He also added that the summit was to build stronger political structure that will help PDP deliver their preferred candidate during the party’s primaries and the general elections.

Speaking, the chairman on the occasion, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem thanked the council chairman of Ika, Chief Saviour Enyiekere for putting up together the summit in support of the State Governor, Godswill Akpabio and the SSG, Mr. Udom Emmanuel ahead of the elections. 

While describing Enyiekere as a strong party loyalist, Enoidem charged the youths of Ika to always be loyal to the party and support the government of the day, stating that there is always a reward for loyalists in the party.
Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem who is the Commissioner for Special Duties in the State re-affirmed the decision of Ika youths that Akpabio is the right person and the best amongst aspirants to go to the senate come 2015, adding that Akpabio’s senate seat is not negotiable.

According to him “the senate seat is a mark of reward and honour to the governor who has developed Akwa Ibom State for the past seven years and has put on ground infrastructures. He has uncommonly transformed the State. So the senate is a way of saying thank you to the governor”.

On governorship, Enoidem urged the youths of Ika to support Udom Emmanuel, stating that nobody will have the capacity to take the State to the next level apart from Udom Emmanuel and that the youths should see the need to support him so that Udom will emerge the next governor come 2015.

The member representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Ekon in his speech promised to support Udom Emmanuel and also called on Ika youths to join hands in support of the governor to produce his successor, Udom Emmanuel. The Special Assistant to the governor on youths mobilization, Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong also appealed to the youths to mobilize and queue behind Mr. Udom Emmanuel.

Also speaking was the supervisor for youths in Ika Local Government Council, Hon. Marshal Udosen who assured that he will mobilize youths from the area in large number to queue behind Akpabio, Udom, Ekon and Saviour Enyiekere to win their various elections come 2015.

Highpoints of the summit was the adoption of Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem as political leader of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency by the youths of Ika LGA.
