The largest socio- cultural group in Akwa Ibom state, Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio on Saturday 5th August, 2017 honoured the speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon (Barr) Onofiok Luke with SELFLESS, PATRIOTIC AND DYNAMIC LEADERSHIP award as his contributions towards the development in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria and humanity. This award was bestowed on him during their 20th Obong Sampson Udo Etuk Lectures and Excellence Awards in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

This award was bestowed on him during their 20th Obong Sampson Udo Etuk Lectures and Excellence Awards in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The annual lecture and excellence awards event is named after Late Obong Sampson Udo Etuk, a selfless leader who was the first president of the Ibibio State Union, the worthy forebear of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, this awards is organize every year to recognize and honour achievers and also promote discourse on contemporary issues of interest and benefit to the people and government of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria.
The speaker after receiving the ward went on to say, “I was privileged this evening to be honoured by Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio for selfless, patriotic leadership. I return all the glory to God Almighty for His grace which has been sufficient for me to make my little contributions towards the development of my state, country and humanity. This honour is a call for more service”.
